North New Ballas Obstetrics & Gynecology
My name is Shanon A. Forseter MD and I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and some of my philosophies about women’s care. I was born and raised in St. Louis and was lucky enough to be able to remain in Missouri for both medical school and residency. I have a beautiful wife and a perfect son, and I always enjoy life to the fullest!
I chose Obstetrics and Gynecology because I want to be in a branch of medicine where you form a lifelong relationship with your patients. There is nothing more fulfilling to me than assisting my patients as they go through each phase of life, navigating through both the joys and challenges of the female body during transitions.
As an OB-GYN my philosophy is to always listen to the patient. I firmly believe that while I have the medical knowledge and skills, you hold the key to your own bodies. It is the patient who knows themselves the best. For example, there are many different positive ways for a woman to give birth, and quite simply I am there to support the mother’s personal preferences and plans. I will always do my best to make sure each individual and family has that special moment unfold as they envision it. Similarly, as a woman ages and finds her body changing, it is essential that I choose the path that will not only help medically, but also is in alignment with the patient's desires.
As an OB-GYN, I take pride in getting to know each of my patients individually. As your new OB-GYN, I vow to provide the best and most personalized care possible. I truly look forward to meeting you and embarking on this journey through life with you.
"Dr. Forseter is, by far, the best
physician I have ever seen.
Now that our baby is born, I
am actually a bit sad not to be
seeing him on a regular basis!
As a childbirth educator, I was specifically looking for an OB
who would partner with me in my pregnancy, rather than simply "take care of me," and someone who would respect my knowledge about pregnancy/birth as well. Throughout my entire pregnancy, he was extremely respectful of wishes (which at times included refusing certain tests), supportive of my decisions and always had time for me. I honestly could go
on an on about what a phenomenal doctor he is!"
